Lazarus House Ministries
Holiday Giving Tree

When most of us think about the holidays, we look forward to warm and cozy times shared with family and friends, decorating the Christmas tree with heirloom ornaments while listening to Christmas Carols and watching the snow flakes gather on the ground, climbing in the car to go and celebrate midnight mass and our children bounding down the stairs on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought them - Beautiful times, wonderfully shared moments.

But not so for those who are poor as the holidays can be a particularly difficult time of year. Imagine not being able to buy your child a Christmas present. It is especially hard on those who are homeless and struggling just to survive.

At Lazarus House, we know the struggle. We see it the faces of our guests when they initially come to stay with us. For many, it is the first time they are able to give their children a Christmas present. And that is why, Lazarus House created the Holiday Giving Tree.

Through your joyous generosity, the Holiday Giving Tree helps provide Christmas presents for all the families and individuals who are living in our shelter. The list contains a variety of items, including sizes for clothing, underwear, socks, etc.

So, that we can be sure that the item you generously donate is age and size appropriate for each person, it is not necessary to wrap these gifts, but please feel free to include wrapping paper if you would like.

Delivery Of Gifts

Please try to deliver gifts before and no later than December 20, 2009. Below are locations & times where the gifts may be dropped off. (The Good Shepherd Center is the ideal drop-off location as this is the where items will be sorted for each person and gift-wrapped).

We would ask that the gifts be unwrapped or placed in holiday gift bags.
