Lazarus House Ministries - Volunteer

Volunteer Opportunities

“It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.” - Mother Teresa

Each day Lazarus House volunteers work side by side with staff to ensure that every guest who comes through our doors is welcomed and served with dignity and respect.

Our volunteers work in every branch of our Ministry and have a profound impact on those we serve. Volunteers not only give of their time and talents, but prepare and serve meals, sort donations of clothing and housewares, answer telephones, assist with administrative duties, sort food for our food pantry, provide housekeeping services, offer electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills and so much more. Even our medical and dental doctors volunteer their time and expertise.

Volunteers come from all areas of our community and volunteer both on and off-site. For example, many churches will form small groups who gather together to prepare a meal, serve lunch, sponsor a hat or coat drive, make sandwiches for bagged lunches or to complete service projects that help improve guest care as well as our facilities.

To volunteer, please complete the volunteer application and/or contact Kelly Townsend at Kelly@LazarusHouse.org or 978-269-5217.

Business and Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities also exist for businesses and corporations. Corporate volunteers often volunteer their time during their workday. Many serve lunch at our Good Shepherd Center Soup Kitchen where warm smiles and caring faces greet each of our guests as they are served a hot nourishing meal daily. Other opportunities include Days of Service, adopting special projects when extra hands are needed, organizing food and clothing drives, off-site fundraisers, supporting our development staff and volunteering at or sponsoring our special events.

If you a person with a warm heart, likes to help people and can welcome all those who come to our door, we have the following volunteer opportunities available:
